Male Hair Grafting

Home  /  Male Hair Grafting

Today, hair transplantation is the most innovative therapeutic option to treat androgenetic alopecia or common baldness in men, being a definitive treatment that allows the natural and functional recovery of hair.

There are many surgical techniques for hair grafting, being the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) method adapted in our clinic, the most advanced hair surgery, especially for its safety and efficacy. At the same time of offering definitive results, this technique has the advantage of not leaving residual scars in the donor area in comparison with other methods of hair surgery such as the strip method (FUSS-Follicular Unit Strip Surgery).

Hair transplant
The procedure consists of implanting the patient's own hair (follicular units) in the area of alopecia. These follicular units are previously extracted from the donor area, which is generally in the lateral and posterior region of the head.
After surgery, the graft begins to grow naturally in the areas of the implant, preserving the original genetic and functional characteristics of the donor site. The first results could be visualized after the first 5 or 6 months, but it usually takes about a year to see the final result. In addition, in most cases continuous hair growth is observed 12 to 18 months after surgery.
As it is an individualized treatment, several factors must be considered at the time of hair transplantation, such as the degree of alopecia, the density of hair in the donor area, the specific characteristics of the hair, or the therapeutic objective of each patient.
